How We Work

This Is How It Started

It was Christoph Welte who started wetcon in 2005. After several years of freelance work as an architect in the field of Microsoft COM and field device integration based on FDT, he used his operational experience as a solid foundation. Today, many key players in the automation industry rely on our in-depth, practical know-how. We have particular experience in the integration of sensor technology based on international standards such as FDT, FDI and OPC UA. As a member of several manufacturers' associations, we have contributed to their specifications ourselves.

wetcon has now reached the next generation of the family: With Frieder Welte as Managing Director and a well-coordinated team of around ten developers and consultants, we are consistently developing the company further. New topics relating to digitalization and transformation complement our many years of expertise in automation. In this way, we combine the strengths of an established family business with the dynamism of a modern software team.

wetcon is deliberately small enough to remain personal - and large enough to handle complex projects reliably. Our team is informal, direct and passionate about good software. We not only know the technologies but also the people behind them - in the team and on the customer side.
